Correcting Tape
Be sure to u se the correcting tape that matches
the ribbon you
are u si ng. Use an orange tape
spool
wit h a ribb on w hich has an orange knob;
use a blue tape spool wit h a ribbon which has
a blue knob.
To remove
the tape :
1. Move the tape lo
ad lever (J) t o the right. *
2. To
li ft off the empty tape spool (K), twist it
s
li ghtly clockwise. Remove the take-up spool.
*The tape load lever cannot be moved if the
ribbon load lever
is in the load position.

To inst all new tap e:
Use an orange tape spool with a ribbon w hich has
an orange knob; us e a blue tape spool with a
ribbon whi ch h as a blue knob.
1. Gently
se parate the tw o tape spool s, but keep
them connected by the or ange or blue uninked
ta
pe ( le ader ).
2. Pl ace the new tape spool (K ) on the l eft sp i nd l e.
3. Th rea d the unink ed tape (leader) through t he
guide (L ), behind the sepa rator w ire (M), and
be h in d the gu id e (N).
4. Pl ace the take-up spool (0) on th e right spi nd l e.
Turn t he take- up spool in the direction of t he
arrow until the unink ed ta pe is past the guid e.
5. Move t he tape load lever (J) to the left. (You
must
close the lever befo re you begin to type.)
