Manual and Operation
Mode 2 - ow control
Setting this mode causes the device to work based on ow control. If the tap on the re-
ceiving side is closed, the device detects that the water in the pipeline has stopped owing
and turns o the pump. The pump will stop approx. 8 seconds after the ow has stopped.
Unscrewing the tap will cause the water to ow again, which in turn will turn on the pump
and the yellow „Status” light will turn o. The cut-o pressure should not be set close to the
maximum pressure delivered by the pump. The cut-o pressure in ow control mode should
be at least 0.5-0.8 bar lower than the maximum pump pressure. It should be remembered
that the entire system / installation must be tight as any leakage may be interpreted by the
controller as turning on the tap which will start the pump.
Operation of the pump in the abovementioned case may lead to ooding and damage
to the pump and other objects and rooms in the vicinity. In such a case, the manufactu
-
rer is not liable for damages. The device has a function of protection against dry running
(pump operation without water or without water ow). When such a condition is detected,
the device turns o the pump and signals the failure with a steady, slow blinking of the
Status light. If the user wishes to restart the pump manually, he can do so by pressing
the „Function button. The pump will start to run. If it still does not detect water ow, it
will go back to the waiting state. If the user does not start the pump manually, the PC59
switch has the function of an automatic restart after 1 hour from the detection of dry
running. The pump will be automatically started, if still the PC59 does not detect normal
ow, it will return to the standby mode and try to start the pump again after another hour.
The device may also interpret the situation as dry running if the break-o pressure is higher
than the pressure generated by the pump. This can happen if the control unit is misaligned
or the hydraulic components of the pump are damaged / worn.
