What to do if my IDEAL ESPRIT 2 35 display shows ‘HHHHH:::::AAAAA ’ (flashing)?
    • S
      Suzanne CarterAug 4, 2025
If your IDEAL Boiler displays ‘HHHHH:::::AAAAA ’ (flashing) and isn't working for central heating or hot water, first check that the pressure gauge on the boiler shows at least 1 bar. If it doesn't, repressurize it to 1 bar using the filling loop. After doing so, turn off the tap on the filling loop, then switch the boiler off and back on to reset it. If you can't do this, or the pressure continues to drop, contact your installer. Also, check if all radiators have thermostatic radiator valves fitted; if they do, contact your installer.

What to do if my IDEAL ESPRIT 2 35 displays ‘L : F ’ (flashing) and is not working?
    • M
      Matthew RobersonAug 8, 2025
If your IDEAL Boiler isn't working for central heating or hot water, but attempts to fire by going through 3 ignition attempts and the display shows ‘L : F ’ (flashing), try pressing the select (reset) button (C) for more than 3 seconds to repeat the ignition sequence. Also, check your gas supply by testing another appliance like a cooker or fire. If there's no gas supply, it's not a boiler fault, so contact your gas supplier. Finally, check the condensate pipe to ensure it's not blocked or frozen. Clear any blockage; if you can't, contact your installer.

What to do if my IDEAL ESPRIT 2 35 display shows ‘L:A ’ (flashing)?

      Monica HuntAug 12, 2025
If your IDEAL Boiler isn't working for central heating or hot water and the display shows ‘L:A ’ (flashing), press the select (reset) button (C) for more than 3 seconds to try re-lighting the boiler. If the fault happens again, it indicates an overheat condition. Turn the boiler off and contact your installer. Also, check if all radiators have thermostatic radiator valves fitted; if they do, contact your installer.

      Renee MartinAug 17, 2025
If your IDEAL Boiler isn't working for central heating, and it's already set to an ‘ON’ period, check the programmer by setting it to permanent ON. If the boiler then fires, contact your installer to fix the programmer. Also, check the room thermostat by turning it fully up. If is not displayed on the user controls, contact your installer.

How to troubleshoot IDEAL Boiler not working for heating or hot water?
    • J
      Jennifer TurnerAug 21, 2025
If your IDEAL Boiler isn't working for central heating or hot water, check that the boiler has power by ensuring switch (A) is in the ON position and the time of day is displayed on the controls. Also, make sure the programmer is in an ON period or set to ON. If the time of day isn't displayed, it's not a boiler fault, so contact your installer or service company.

If your IDEAL Boiler comes on for domestic hot water without a tap being opened and the display shows , check for dripping or dribbling taps or showers and ensure they are fully turned off. Why does my IDEAL Boiler fire occasionally for about 2 minutes?
    • D
      Daniel SchneiderAug 30, 2025
This is a normal function of the IDEAL Boiler. During an ON period, the boiler periodically pre-heats the plate heat exchanger to optimize the delivery time for domestic hot water to taps or showers.
