What to do if my IDEAL Boiler is not working for central heating or hot water?

  First, ensure the boiler has power—the green LED (A) should be lit and flashing every 4 seconds; if not, contact your installer. Next, check that the pressure gauge reads at least 1 bar; if it's lower, repressurize the system using the filling loop until it reaches 1 bar, then turn off the tap and press the reset button (D). If the pressure continues to drop or you are unable to repressurize the system, contact your installer. Finally, if the lockout signal lamp (E) is lit, press the boiler reset button (D); if the boiler still doesn't fire, contact your installer.

  First, check that the air pressure switch test caps on top of the boiler are correctly fitted. Then, confirm that the integral programmer is set to an ‘on’ period and the function switch is set to ‘auto’. If it still does not operate contact your installer. If you have an external programmer, make sure the central heating channel is set to ‘on’. If it still does not operate contact your installer. Also, check that the room thermostat is set to the required temperature by turning it fully up – If this does not respond contact your installer. Finally, check the radiator temperature control (C) is set at the winter setting for central heating.
