REMARKS
Magnetic bars:
There
are
several different magnetic bars
on the
market. Aside from
speed,
the
intensity
of
stirring depends
on the
shape
and the
size
of
the magnetic bar.
For
best results,
IKA®
recommends
the
IKAFLON"
stirring
bar 40 mm in
length.
Do not use
magnetic bars over
60 mm in
length.
Beakers:
For
effective
stirring,
the
beaker
or
vessel used must
be
permeable
to a
magnetic
field,
(a
non-ferrous
material).
Glass,
Austenitic
stainless
steel,
or
aluminum
are
acceptable.
Viscosity
of
liquids:
For liquids above
500
mPas
the
coupling between
the
magnets
is not
strong enough
to
turn
the
magnetic
bar.
Therefore
it is not
recommended
to use the RH
basic
for
this purpose.
