Any deposits, starch residue or size left on the plate can be removed using a damp cloth and a non-abrasive
liquid detergent.
Avoid scratching the plate with steel wool or metallic objects.
The plastic parts can be cleaned with a damp cloth then wiped over with a dry cloth.
The most common problems related to appliance use will be discussed in this chapter. If you are not able to
solve the problems with the following information, please contact the Authorised Service Centre.
The plate stays cold or
does not heat up.
There is no power.
Check that the plug is correctly inserted
or try to insert it in another socket.
Make sure that the temperature control
knob (2) is not set on the minimum
temperature (Fig D).
The plate temperature
control light turns
on and o.
Normal procedure.
The turning on and o of the light indicates
the iron is in the heating phase.
As soon as it reaches the set temperature,
the light switches o.
Only small quantities
of steam or none at all
come out.
The steam selector is on the Ø
position.
Move the steam indicator to the desired area
(g B).
There isn’t enough water in the
tank.
Fill the tank.
The Anti-Drip function is
activated.
Wait until the plate has reached the correct
temperature again.
Impurities coming out
of the steam vents stain
garments.
Possible residue in the steam/
plate chamber.
Carry out self-cleaning (see paragraph Self
Clean/Calc Clean)
You are using chemical
additives, scented substances
or descalers.
Using such substances can damage the
product: do not add additives to the water in
the tank.
You are using pure distilled or
softened water.
Mix tap water (50%) with distilled and/or
demineralised (50%);
You are using starch
Always spray starch on the wrong side of
fabrics.
