The user program (e.g. terminal program, LabView, etc.) must support serial inter-
faces. Under Microsoft Windows operating systems the VGC50x is listed as a
virtual COM interface.
Please contact your network administrator, before starting Ethernet
configuration.
Your operating system should be updated first. Additionally administra-
tor rights are required.
Readout the MAC address of the VGC50x ( 58).
The VGC50x should be registered in the network by the network adminis-
trator. After registration ask him for the Ethernet parameters (IP ADDRESS,
GATEWAY, NETMASK and DHCP).
Configuring the VGC50x:
Save all VGC50x parameters on a USB memory stick ("SAVE SETUP",
63).
Set the Ethernet parameters (IP ADDRESS, GATEWAY, NETMASK and
DHCP) in the saved CSV file on the memory stick.
Load the modified parameters onto the VGC50x ("RESTORE SETUP",
63).
Connect the VGC50x with an Ethernet patch cable to the network.
Search for the VGC50x in the network using the Ethernet Configuration Tool
and assign it to a virtual COM interface ( 107).
Start the program for communication with the VGC50x and connect it to the
assigned COM interface.
If unknown, ask the network administrator for the Ethernet parameters
(IP ADDRESS, GATEWAY, NETMASK and DHCP).
