PERFECT VQ IN VENTED ENCLOSURES
Use the sample curve and the charts
at right to choose the vented box that
best suits your application. Some
additional terms used with vented
enclosure specifications are defined
below. We recommend the use of
round, flared ports to minimize
distortion caused by air moving
through the port at high output.
• Pd – Port diameter
• PL – Port length
• In-car Fmax – Vented enclosure and
woofer systems always exhibit a peak
in their frequency response in the car.
This term indicates the frequency of
the peak and its amplitude.
