Why is black smoke coming from my Instant VORTEX Fryer?

  Black smoke may appear due to several reasons. It could be that the oil used has a low smoke point. Use only cooking oils with a high smoke point, such as virgin or extra virgin olive, avocado, canola, soy-bean, safflower, or rice bran oil. Another cause might be food residue on the heating coil, in the cooking chamber, or on the accessories. Remove the accessories and thoroughly clean the cooking chamber and accessories. Finally, it may be a faulty circuit or heating element, in which case you should contact Customer Care.

  If your Instant Fryer is plugged in but not turning on, there are a few things you can check: 1. Ensure the power cord is firmly plugged into the outlet. 2.   White smoke can occur for a few reasons. It might be due to food having a high fat content, such as bacon, sausage, or hamburger. Avoid air frying foods with a high fat content. Another possibility is that water is vaporizing, producing thick steam. Always pat-dry moist foods before air frying, and do not add water or other liquid to the cooking chamber when air frying. Lastly, seasoning on the food might have blown onto the element. Lightly spray vegetables and meats with cooking oil before seasoning to ensure that the seasoning adheres to the food.
