  Black smoke from your Instant Fryer could be due to several reasons. First, the oil you're using might have a low smoke point. Switch to cooking oils with a high smoke point, such as virgin or extra virgin olive, avocado, canola, soya bean, safflower, or rice bran oil. Second, there might be food residue on the heating coil, in the cooking chamber, or on the accessories. Remove the accessories and thoroughly clean the cooking chamber and accessories.
