Why is my Instant Vortex 6 Fryer producing black smoke?
    • J
      Jennifer DavisJul 28, 2025
Black smoke from your Instant Fryer could be due to several reasons. First, the oil you're using might have a low smoke point. Switch to cooking oils with a high smoke point, such as virgin or extra virgin olive, avocado, canola, soya bean, safflower, or rice bran oil. Second, there might be food residue on the heating coil, in the cooking chamber, or on the accessories. Remove the accessories and thoroughly clean the cooking chamber and accessories.

What to do if my Instant Fryer is producing white smoke?

      Carrie CurtisAug 7, 2025
White smoke coming from your Instant Fryer can be caused by a few things. It could be that the food you're cooking has a high fat content, like bacon, sausages, or hamburgers. Try to avoid air frying foods with high fat content. Another reason might be that water is vaporizing and producing thick steam. Always pat-dry moist foods before air frying, and do not add water or any other liquid to the cooking chamber when air frying. Also, seasoning on food could have blown onto the element. Lightly spray vegetables and meats with cooking oil before seasoning to help the seasoning stick to the food.
