GENERAL INFORMATION
Model PF1102 Freeze Protection Control is self-contained in an indoor-outdoor, beige, rainproof
enclosure and designed to be connected to a timing or switching device. Together, they control as well
as protect the Pool/Spa equipment and

32˚F and 45˚F). Nevertheless, the
Control is not intended to be a
substitute for the insulation, coverings or
maintenance.

What to do if Intermatic PF1102 Control Systems load is always ON, but the dial is turning?
    • R
      rwilliamsJul 26, 2025
If the load is always on while the dial is turning, this could be due to several reasons. It may be caused by welded contacts, in which case the mechanism should be changed. Alternatively, there might be two ON-trippers on the dial, which would require changing the tripper. Finally, a defective mechanism could also be the cause, necessitating a change of the mechanism.

How to troubleshoot an Intermatic Control Systems time switch that won't keep time but the dial is turning?
    • S
      Shirley LaneAug 1, 2025
If your Intermatic Control Systems time switch isn't keeping time but the dial is still turning, it could be due to frequent power outages; in this case, reset the dial. Another cause might be the wrong voltage/cycle, which would require changing the clock motor. Also, check for loose clock motor connections and ensure they are secure.

Why is my Intermatic Control Systems clock motor dead (gears not rotating)?
    • G
      gabrielcarterAug 7, 2025
A dead clock motor in Intermatic Control Systems, where the gears aren't rotating, can stem from a few issues. The clock motor may be defective due to an open coil caused by lightning or a surge, which means you should change the clock motor. Another potential cause is loose clock motor connections that you should check. Finally, the voltage could be wrong, and in this case, you’ll need to change the clock motor.

If the dial on your Intermatic Control Systems time switch stops at the ON or OFF tripper, the issue could be a loose tripper, so check or change the tripper. Another possibility is a bent dial, which would require checking or changing the mechanism. Lastly, a defective motor could be the cause, and you would need to change the clock motor.

Why won't my Intermatic PF1102 filter pump start when the temperature is below 32°F?
    • A
      Angela MiddletonAug 19, 2025
If your Intermatic Control Systems filter pump doesn't start when the temperature is below 32°F, it might be due to a defective thermostat, in which case you should replace the thermostat. Another cause could be a defective relay, requiring you to replace the relay. Also, check for faulty wiring and repair as needed. In addition, a power outage can be the reason; consider installing stand-by power.
