Questions and Answers

Why is my Intex ECO20230 Swimming Pool Pump filter motor not starting?
    • J
      Jennifer MccarthyAug 14, 2025
First, ensure the line cord is plugged into a 3-wire outlet protected by a Class A Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter, or RCD. Try resetting the circuit breaker; if it repeatedly trips, your electrical system may have a defect, so turn off the breaker and call an electrician. Also, let the motor cool down before restarting.

What to do if my Intex ECO20230 filter doesn’t pump water or the flow is very slow?
    • G
      George CoxAug 18, 2025
If your filter isn't pumping water effectively, start by clearing any obstructions in the intake hose by discharging it inside the pool wall. Ensure that the hose nuts are tightened, check the hoses for damage, and verify the pool water level. Clean the pre-filtering basket more often and backwash the filter. Also, install the nozzle at the upper position of the pool inlet, and the strainer at the lower position of the pool outlet. If necessary, remove about 1” of sand. Finally, remove any pool vacuuming device attached to the system line.

What to do if my Intex ECO20230 filter doesn’t clean the pool?
    • C
      Craig BennettAug 20, 2025
To improve your filter's cleaning performance, ensure the valve is set to the “FILTER” position and operate the filter for longer periods. Clean the basket. You can also use an Intex pool vacuum to clean the bottom of the pool.

Why is the 6-way valve/cover leaking on my Intex Swimming Pool Pump?
    • T
      tonywhiteAug 25, 2025
If the 6-way valve/cover is leaking, remove the cover and make sure the o-ring is in place. Clean the sand tank o-ring with garden hose water and tighten the clamp with the wrench supplied.

What to do if there are white flakes in the water of my Intex Swimming Pool?
    • D
      dmcfarlandAug 27, 2025
If you notice white flakes in the water, drain about 20 to 25% of the pool water and add fresh water to decrease the calcium hardness. Inspect the electrolytic cell for scale buildup and clean it if necessary.

    • H
      Helen Cook MDSep 3, 2025
If sand is flowing back into the pool, ensure you are using only No. 20 silica sand with a particle size range of 0.45 to 0.85 mm (0.018 to 0.033 inches) and a Uniformity Coefficient less than 1.75. If the issue persists, consider changing the sand.
