What to do if my Intex SF70110-1 filter motor fails to start?
    • A
      Adam ReedAug 16, 2025
First, ensure the line cord is plugged into a 3-wire outlet protected by a Class A Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter, or RCD. If that doesn't work, reset the GFCI/RCD circuit breaker. If it trips repeatedly, turn off the breaker and consult an electrician. Also, the motor may be too hot; let it cool down before restarting.

Check that the pool water level is correct. Clean the strainer screens at the pool inlet if they are clogged. Inspect the intake hose for air leaks and tighten the hose nuts, checking for damage. If these steps don’t resolve the issue, the motor may be faulty or the impeller jammed.

Why is my Intex SF70110-1 filter not pumping water or the flow is very slow?
    • J
      Jay FloresAug 21, 2025
Several issues could be the cause. Check for clogged inlets or discharge and clear any obstructions in the intake hose. Look for air leaks on the intake line by tightening hose nuts and inspecting for damage and ensure that the pool water level is correct. If the pool is excessively dirty, clean the pre-filtering basket more often. Backwash the filter if the sand media is clogged with dirt. Ensure the nozzle and strainer connections are not reversed, with the nozzle at the upper position and the strainer at the lower position of the pool outlet. Remove about 1” of sand if there's crusting or caking on the filtering sand surface. Remove any pool vacuuming device attached to the system line. Lastly, ensure the inlet threaded air connector is connected to the pool inlet upper hole.

What to do if my Intex Swimming Pool Pump filter doesn’t clean the pool properly?
    • M
      Michael CoffeyAug 25, 2025
Check and adjust the chlorine and pH levels, consulting your local swimming pool supply store if needed. Ensure the filter tank is loaded with filter sand according to the sand loading instructions. Make sure the 6-way valve is set to the “FILTER” position. If the pool is excessively dirty, operate the filter for longer periods. Also, clean the strainer screen at the inlet if it's restricting water flow.

Why is sand flowing back into my Intex Swimming Pool from the pump?
    • D
      Donna PowellSep 5, 2025
The sand might be too small. Use only No. 20 silica sand with a particle size range of 0.45 to 0.85 mm (0.018 to 0.033 inches) and a Uniformity Coefficient less than 1.75. Alternatively, the sand bed may be calcified, requiring you to change the sand.

What to do if my Intex SF70110-1's inlet threaded air connector or air jet valve is leaking?
    • M
      mlopezSep 8, 2025
Ensure the plunger valve is well-fitted by tightening or reinstalling it. Check that the air jet valve is tight and facing up. If the air jet valve internal seal is blocked, turn the pump ON and run for a few seconds, then turn OFF, repeating 3 times. If the seal is dirty, remove the air jet valve, flush dirt out with water, and replace the valve.
