2. Stabilize the instrument joints and grasp the tip cover. Rotate the tip cover ¼ turn
counter-clockwise to unlock from the instrument shaft (
Figure 5.11). If needed, use sterile
gauze to more firmly grasp the tip cover while rotating.

3. Rotate the Grip Release Dial on the instrument housing clockwise to extend the pin from
the distal end of the instrument shaft, then remove the ball from the pin socket
(Figure 5.12 A and B).

Disposal
Dispose of the single-use MCS Tip in a sharps container and according to local hospital
protocol.
