Lift
Theconnectionbetweenthemastandthebaseshouldbecleanedandcoatedwith
petroleumjellypriortoassembly.
Detecting Wear and Damage
Itisimportanttoinspectallstressedparts,suchasslings,slingattachmentknobs,andany
pivotforslingsforsignsofcracking,fraying,deformationordeterioration.Replaceany
defectivepartsimmediatelyandensurethattheliftisnotuseduntilrepairsaremade.
Allslingmetalpartsshouldbeinspected
everythreemonthsandifwearisapparent,
replacementmustbemade.
Checkthatalllabelsarepresentandlegible.Replaceifnecessary.
Cleaning the Sling and the Lift
Theslingshouldbewashedregularlyinwatertemperatureof180°F(82°C)anda
biologicalsolution.Asoftcloth,dampenedwithwaterandasmallamountofmild
detergent,isallthatisneededtocleanthelift.Theliftcanbecleanedwithnonabrasive
cleaners.
Replacing the Knee Pad
NOTE:Forthisprocedure,refertoFIGURE 8.2.
1. Removethefourbuttonscrewsandwashersthatsecureexistingkneepadtothelift.
2. Removetheexistingkneepadfromthelift.
3. Positionthemountingholesinthenewkneepadwiththemountingholesinthelift.
4. Usingtheexistinghardware,securethenewkneepadtothelift.
