Disc wheel inspection
1. Disc wheel inspection
Note
Visual inspection of installation condition of the
disc wheels
Confirm that all wheel bolts and wheel nuts are attached.
Inspect for rust from the disc wheels and wheel bolts and
wheel nuts, and for cracks or damage in the disc wheels.
Inspect the amount of protrusion of the wheel bolts from
the wheel nut. If the amount of protrusion is uneven,
inspect if the amount of protrusion is different between
the axles.
Caution
If there is an abnormality, it may possibly lead
to loosening of the wheel nut or damaging of
the wheel bolt.

2. Too much protrusion of bolt end
3. Crack
4. Broken bolt
5. Rust drops
6. Missing nut
Inspect with an inspection hammer or small hammer
Place your fingers on the underside of the wheel nut and
tap in the direction that the nut is tightened from the top
surface of the wheel nut using the inspection hammer or
small hammer to inspect it. Check whether the vibrations
that reach your fingers are different from other nuts or if
the sound is cloudy.
Caution
If there is a difference, the wheel nut may
possibly be loose or wheel bolt may be
damaged.
Note
Inspection of disc wheel unit
Inspect for cracks or damages around the bolt holes or the
ornament holes.
Inspect for cracks, damage or damage at the surface
touching the wheel nut.
Inspect the welds for cracks or damage.
Inspect the installation surface to the hub and the aligning
surface of the wheel for worn and damage.
Limit value of wear amount
Wheel 0.3 mm { 0.012 in }
Front hub 1 mm { 0.039 in }
Rear hub 0.5 mm { 0.020 in }
Caution
Replace the wheel and hub if the wear amount
exceeds the limit value.
