Unloading Above Ground Level
Unload above ground level only after you fully understand
how to handle palleted loads. The basic procedure is the
same, but remember the following points:
K
Stacking Loads ( T 72).
1 Approach the unload area on centre, with the rear
wheels straight. Stop the machine, just in front of the
stack (or platform).
2 Raise the load until it is a few inches higher than the
stack or platform.
Fig 51.
3 Drive forward in first gear until the load is directly
above its required position. Stop the machine.
Engage the park brake. Put the transmission in
neutral.
4 Set the forks level with the unload area and lower the
load into position.
5 Lower the forks a little more to clear the pallet. Tilting
the mast forward a little may help at this stage.

6 Check that it is clear behind you, then slowly reverse
the machine away in first gear.
7 When the forks are clear of the load, stop the
machine. Engage the park brake and put the
transmission in neutral.
8 Lower the forks. Put the mast and carriage into the
site travel position.
