Clean
WARNING Airborne particles of light combustible
material such as straw, grass, wood shavings,
etc. must not be allowed to accumulate within the
engine compartment or in the propshaft guards
(when installed). Examine these areas frequently
and clean at the beginning of each work shift or
more often if required. Before opening the engine
cover, make sure that the top is clear of debris.
1. Make the machine safe with the lift arm lowered.
Refer to (PIL 01-03).
2. Make sure that the engine is safe to work on. If
the engine has been running, let it cool before
you start the service work.
2.1. Do not try to clean any part of the running
engine.
3. Make sure that all the electrical connectors are
connected correctly. If the connectors are open,
install the correct caps or seal with waterproof
tape.
4. Put covers on the electrical/electronic
components.
5. Make sure that the underneath of the machine is
clean.
6. Do not let mud build-up on the engine or
transmission system. If necessary, steam clean.
7. Check the condition of the cooling pack. Clean
the cooling pack as required. Refer to (PIL
21-00).
