What to do if the burner on my Jenn-Air Ranges won't ignite?
- SSavannah AguirreAug 10, 2025
If your Jenn-Air Ranges burner won't ignite when you turn the knob to 'LITE', there are several potential causes. First, ensure the range is receiving 120 VAC from the wall outlet. Then, check the micro switch contacts and make sure they are closing properly. Inspect the wiring for faults or loose connections at the burner electrode and electrode socket, comparing against the wiring diagram and tightening connections. The spark module might be inoperative and needs checking based on testing procedures. Also, a dirty electrode or burner cap can prevent ignition, so clean them. If the electrode, electrode wire, or socket is cracked or broken, the electrode needs to be replaced.
