Bent, cracked, broken or
obstructed
Remove all dry chemical from tank in accordance with ANSUL®
Technical Bulletin Re-Use of Dry Chemical Agents (Form No. F-8202, latest revision). Remove gas
tube assembly from tank adaptor or elbow and discard damaged tube. Install replacement gas tube
assembly and wrench tighten. (See corresponding parts list for assembly part number.)
Loose, leaking, damaged, or
missing check valve
Remove all dry chemical from tank in accordance with ANSUL® Technical Bulletin Re-Use of Dry
Chemical Agents (Form No. F-8202, latest revision). Remove gas tube assembly from tank adaptor
or elbow and discard damaged tube. Install replacement gas tube assembly and wrench tighten.
(See corresponding parts list for assembly part number.)
Residual dry chemical in
nitrogen hose coupling
Remove all dry chemical from tank in accordance with ANSUL® Technical Bulletin Re-Use of Dry
Chemical Agents (Form No. F-8202, latest revision). Remove gas tube assembly from tank adaptor
or elbow and discard damaged tube. Install replacement gas tube assembly and wrench tighten.

Return to step 9 in the Maintenance Section and complete the remaining maintenance steps.

Obstructed Refer to Hose Pick-Up Tube Blow-Down Procedure (Manual Part No. 53141) to clear tube. If tube
will not blow clear, use plumber’s drain auger to clear tube.

Unreadable wording Use a mild abrasive (scouring chemical) to clean plate. If readability cannot be improved, replace
nameplate**.
Loose Remove nameplate and inspect area under plate. If corroded, see ‘‘Agent Tank – Rust Spots, Pits,
and Corrosion Deposits’’ and take appropriate corrective action. Then re-affix plate using a good
grade of contact cement (Part No. 59321).
Missing Replace with correct nameplate. (See applicable parts list.)**.

** Replacement maintenance nameplates will not have UL manifest.
