Function Description:

The IQ4 Hub serves as the central control panel for a security and smart home system. It features a user-friendly interface divided into three sections:

  • Header: Displays date, time, weather, message center, and settings tray access.
  • Primary Interface: Shows arming options, sensor status, and partition selection.
  • Footer: Provides panic options and navigation to additional pages.

Usage Features:

  • User Interface: The home screen provides an overview of the system status. The message center displays security provider messages, contact info, alerts, video tutorials, and FAQs.
  • Settings Tray: Accessed by swiping down from the top bar, it offers quick access to system, battery, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and cellular status, as well as volume control, brightness, a lock screen icon, and other quick settings.
  • Screen Lock: When enabled, a lock screen prevents unauthorized access and manages permissions to "Advanced Settings."
  • Programming: Allows configuration of various system settings, including EU Events, Automation rules (e.g., lighting schedules), Activity Monitor for 24-hour zones, License information, Advanced Settings (requiring Dealer, Installer, or Master code), and Smart Energy Optimizer.
  • Installation: Guides the installer through initial setup, including wall mount or table stand options, wiring diagrams, and powering the panel. The Setup Wizard provides a step-by-step programming tool for consistent installations.
  • Security Sensors: Supports adding, editing, and deleting up to 128 security RF or life safety devices. Features include Auto Learn Sensor for quick pairing, manual Add Sensor, Edit Sensor, Delete Sensor, Sensor Status for real-time monitoring, and Sensor Group for quick reference to sensor behaviors. PowerG Output Rules allow configuration of PGMs.
  • Wi-Fi Devices: Manages Wi-Fi connections, including scanning and connecting to networks, configuring the IQ4 Hub's built-in Access Point (enabling/disabling router, broadcasting/hiding SSID, changing password), viewing connected devices, pairing IQ Remote Secondary Touchscreens, and enabling/disabling 3rd party connections. It also supports IQ WiFi and IQ WiFi 6 routers.
  • Z-Wave Devices: Manages Z-Wave devices, including adding (inclusion), editing, clearing (exclusion), deleting failed devices, and removing all devices (factory default reset). It also allows viewing/editing associations and configuring Z-Wave settings (device limits, frequency region, advanced settings like Replace Failed Node and Add/Remove Controller). SmartStart simplifies device inclusion using DSK codes, and the Provisioning List tracks inclusion progress.
  • Bluetooth Devices: Supports adding, editing, deleting, and configuring up to 5 mobile Bluetooth devices for disarming. Settings include toggling Bluetooth on/off, adjusting disarm settings, and changing the disarm timeout.
  • System Tests: Provides various tests to ensure proper system functioning, including Wi-Fi Test, Sensor Test (showing dBm signal strength and noise floor), Cellular Test, Z-Wave Tests (connection, rediscover network, neighbor info, counters, diagnostics), PowerG Test (ping, signal strength, PIR CAM image review), Zigbee Test (signal strength, battery voltage), Panel Glass Break Test (clap test, alarm test mode), Dual Path Test, Daughter Cards Test, Panel Test (all processes), Ambient Noise Test, and Input Voltage Test.
  • Customization: Allows user management (creating/editing user codes with different access levels), dealer branding (customizing contact info, loading custom logos, billboard images, or help videos via Panel Access Point), connecting to Wi-Fi, weather display (today's and 4-day forecast), and Photo Frame settings (displaying digital photos, choosing display type, transitions, display time, on/off times).

Maintenance Features:

  • Software Upgrade: Supports upgrading the panel's software version via Wi-Fi or Access Point. The system can check for new software in the background and download it for later installation.
  • Battery Replacement: Provides a step-by-step guide for safely powering down the panel, unplugging the battery connector, removing the old battery, and installing a new one. It includes cautions against using sharp objects or pulling on cables.
  • Troubleshooting: Offers guidance for resolving common issues, including Power Down, Panel Reboot, and Hard Reboot procedures. It also provides a detailed troubleshooting table for Panel Tests, covering Arm-Disarm, Photos, Help Videos, Battery, LED Green/Red, Panel Tamper, AC Status, Internet Connection, Wi-Fi, Upgrade Service, Z-Wave, and Sirens.
