4. FIRE ALARM INTERFACE INPUT
This section provides more detailed information on the usage of the Fire Alarm
Interface (FAI) input.
NOTE: Fire alarm input must be wired for fail-safe operation.
FAI activation, deactivation, and latching occurs as follows:
Activation with a Normally Open Relay Contact
FAI activates when the NO contact closes, and
deactivates when the NO contact opens.
Activation with a Normally Closed Relay Contact
FAI activates when the NC contact closes., and
deactivates when the NC contact closes.
To test the FAI with an NC contact, remove one
wire going to the NC contact. You cannot test
FAI with an NC contact by removing the
terminal strip, as this will remove the jumper
wires from V+ and V- as well.
