MIDSECTION
STEERING HANDLE - TILLER MODELS

Apply Trip/e-Guard grease to the steering handle
sleeve. Place
the sleeve into the steering bracket.
Attach the steering
handle to the steering bracket.
Tighten the screw and nut so the steering
handle
can pivot and maintain any position.
Secure stop button ground
lead to bottom ignition
coil mounting screw. Tighten screw to a torque of
48 to 96 in.
Ibs. (5.4 to 10.8 N·m).
Thread the anchor onto the cable housing 2 in.
(50 mm),
plus or minus one turn, from the end of
the
cable sleeve. Secure anchor
in
place with
shoulder screw and spacer. Next, thread the con-
nector onto the
cable end.

Position the connector
on
the throttle arm ball
joint. Secure the connector using the washer and
spring retainer.
45035 Secure the bracket to the lower engine cover
Use Pin
Insert Tool, PIN 322697, to install stop
button
lead into plug. Connect the 5-pin Ampheno/
connector. Secure connector with wire retainer.
