Overview

The JR Python 2-Channel Digital Proportional Radio Control System is a meticulously manufactured and assembled radio control set designed for enthusiasts of R/C models. This system is intended to provide reliable and precise control for various applications, including cars and boats.

Function Description:

The JR Python system comprises a transmitter, a 2-channel receiver, and two 2-channel B.E.C. servos, along with essential accessories like a B.E.C. switch harness and servo accessories. The transmitter, designated NET-112, is the primary control unit, featuring a steering wheel for directional control and a throttle trigger for speed. It includes servo reverse switches for both steering and throttle, allowing users to reverse the rotation direction of the servos. Trim tabs for steering and throttle enable fine-tuning of the neutral positions. A steering rate adjuster provides control over the steering servo's throw, allowing adjustment from approximately 10% to 100% to suit different course conditions. The transmitter also features an antenna voltage meter to indicate battery strength, ensuring users are aware of when to replace or recharge batteries.

R/C Safety Precautions:

  • R/C models are not toys and can cause serious injury; operate with caution.
  • Users are responsible for safe operation, proper installation, testing, and operation of their models.
  • Avoid operating R/C cars in areas with full-size automobiles.
  • Keep R/C boats away from swimmers, full-size boats, and wildlife, and watch for fishing lines.
  • Always ensure the operating frequency is clear before use to prevent loss of control.
  • Discontinue operation immediately if abnormal model functioning is observed.
  • Monitor transmitter and receiver battery voltage; weak batteries can lead to loss of control. For B.E.C. systems, stop use if top speed sharply decreases.

Operating Sequence:

  • Before Operation: Switch on the transmitter, then the receiver.
  • After Operation: Switch off the receiver, then the transmitter. This sequence ensures a continuous signal to the receiver, preventing uncontrolled operation when the transmitter is turned off.

Installation:

  • Receiver Power: The NER-102 receiver uses B.E.C. and draws power from the model's Ni-Cd battery pack (6V-8.4V). Higher voltage packs may damage the receiver and servos.
  • Polarity: Ensure correct polarity when connecting male and female connectors. Servo leads and receiver cases are molded for correct insertion.
  • Optional Battery Holder: An optional battery holder (JRPA020) can be used with alkaline batteries for receiver power if a separate battery is desired.
  • Speed Controller: Mechanical speed controllers require a B.E.C. system compatible connector (red connector). Electronic speed controllers typically plug directly into receiver function 2.
  • Servo Cushions: Use black rubber servo cushions to reduce vibration sensitivity.

Transmitter Features:

  • Battery Case: To access the battery compartment, slide the tab in the direction of the arrow while pushing the rounded tab. Install 8 AA batteries according to the diagram. If the transmitter voltage fails to register, check battery installation and charge.
  • Charging Jack: For Ni-Cd batteries, an optional JR Charger (JRPC221) can be plugged into the charging jack for overnight charging. Only JR chargers should be used, and alkaline batteries should not be recharged.

The JR Python system comes with a 365-day warranty covering manufacturer defects in material and workmanship from the date of purchase. Horizon Service Center will repair or replace defective components at no cost to the original purchaser.

Warranty Coverage:

  • The warranty is limited to the original purchaser and is not transferable.
  • It does not cover units that have been improperly installed, mishandled, abused, damaged in a crash, or repaired/altered by unauthorized agencies.
  • The buyer is not entitled to consequential or incidental damages.
  • To ensure longevity, avoid exposing the radio system to extreme temperatures, humidity, or moisture, and do not leave it in direct sunlight for extended periods.

Repair Service Directions:

  • Before Shipping: Ensure all on/off switches are off to speed up battery condition checks.
  • What to Send: Only send system components (transmitter, receiver, servos); do not send the system installed in a model car or boat.
  • Packaging: Use the original carton/packaging (molded foam container) or equivalent. Package the system carton within a sturdy shipping container with additional packing material to prevent transit damage.
  • Documentation: Include complete name and address information inside the carton and clearly written on the outer label. Provide detailed information about the system's operation and encountered problems, an itemized list of enclosed equipment, and identify specific areas/functions for technicians to address. Date correspondence and ensure name and address are present. Include a phone number for contact during business hours.
  • Warranty Repairs: Include the original dated sales receipt for proof-of-purchase. If warranty conditions are met, repairs are free.
  • Non-Warranty Repairs: If repair costs exceed 50% of the retail purchase cost, an estimate will be provided. Advise Horizon Service Center of preferred payment method (VISA, MasterCard, or C.O.D. cash-only) and include credit card number and expiration date if applicable.
