For field-wiring connections, use copper conductors only.
Figure 12 and Figure 13 show how to attach the grounding and power cables. The grounding
cable attach
es to the grounding points on the router above the power supplies. The power
cables insert into the field-wiring terminals located on each power supply— the input
terminal is labeled -48V and the return terminal is labeled RTN.
Before rout
er installation begins, a licensed electrician must attach a cable
lug to the grounding and power cables that you supply. A cable with an
incorrectl
y attached lug can damage the router (for example, by causing
ashortcircuit).
Power cords and cables must not block access to router components or
drape whe
re people could trip on them.
Tools and Parts Required
To replace a power supply, you need the following tools and parts:
• Electrostatic bag or antistatic mat
• Electro
static discharge (ESD) grounding wrist strap
• Phillips (+) screwdrivers, numbers 1 and 2
