Other problems
The camera operates
slowly when
switching between
video mode and still
image mode, or when
switching the power
on or off.
Copy all fi les from the media onto your computer, and erase the
les from the media.
(If there are many still images (more than 1,000 fi les) on the
media, it takes time for the camera to process the fi les.)
The camera gets hot.
This is not a malfunction.
The lamp does not
ash during battery
charging.
Check the remaining battery charge.
(When the battery is fully charged, the lamp does not fl ash.)
When recharging in either a hot or cold environment, ensure that
battery is being charged within the permitted temperature range.
(If the battery is being recharged outside the permitted
temperature range, recharging may stop to protect the battery.)
The remote control
doesn’t work.
Replace the batteries.
Set [REMOTE] in the general menu to [ON].
The remote control may not operate outdoors or in places
exposed to strong light.
8 The following phenomena are not malfunctions.
LCD monitor momentarily becomes red or black when sunlight is recorded.
Black spots, or red, green, or blue spots appear on the LCD monitor.
(The LCD monitor contains 99.99% effective pixels, but 0.01% or fewer pixels may be
ineffective.)
8 Maintaining HDD Performance
Periodically perform [CLEAN-UP HDD].
8 If a malfunction occurs in the HDD
! Perform [CLEAN-UP HDD].
# If this does not solve the malfunction, perform [FORMAT HDD]. (All data is deleted.)
$ If this does not solve the problem, perform the disc check function from a PC after
formatting.
% If this does not solve the problem, contact the JVC customer service for repairs.
8 To reset the camera
! Set the power/mode switch to OFF and remove the power supply (battery pack or AC
adapter) from the camera, then reattach it.
