Aperture Priority Setting
You can add a blurring effect to the background
by setting the aperture value (F-number).
1 Set the program AE dial to “A”.

2 Select the desired setting. (F3.5 to
F16 in ! mode, F3.5 to F8.0 in #
mode)
The lower the F-number (larger aperture
value), the more blurred the background will
become. The higher the F-number (smaller
aperture value), the clearer the focus will be
for both near and far objects.

8 To cancel the aperture priority setting
Set the program AE dial to 4 (auto
recording mode).
NOTE
If the image is too bright, set to a larger
F-number. If the image is too dark, set to a
smaller F-number.
Manual Focus
Preparation:
Set the program AE dial to 3 (manual
recording mode).

8 To cancel the manual focus setting
Set the program AE dial to 4 (auto
recording mode).
Nightscope
The shutter speed is automatically adjusted
from 1/2 to 1/250 seconds. It enables
recording with low light levels in dim locations.
Preparation:
Set the program AE dial to 3 (manual
recording mode).

8 To cancel nightscope
Move the set lever to £ (NIGHT) so that the

indicator disappears.
NOTE
It is recommended to use the tripod ( pg. 14)
when recording with a slow shutter speed.
