Demagnetizing
the
heads
Metal
parts
(heads,
etc.)
may
be
magnetized
due
to
contact
with
the
tape
when
the
deck
is
used
for
a
long
period
of
time.
This
may
also
happen
if
a
magne-
tized
object
(screwdriver,
etc.)
is
brought
near
to
the
heads.
When
the
heads
are
magnetized
tape
hiss
will
increase
and
high
notes
of
prerecorded
tapes
will
be
missed.
Demagnetize
the
heads
and
other
metal
parts
that
come
into
contact
with
the
tape
every
20
—
30
hours
of
use
with
a
head
demagnetizer
(available
from
your
audio
store).
(When
demagnetizing
the
heads,
be
sure
to
switch
the
power
off
(
IL
).)
For
use
of
the
demagnetizer,
see
its
instructions.
