PRECAUTIONS
@
The
automatic
program
selection
mechanism
functions by detecting non-recorded sections
between different program selections. Therefore,
its malfunctioning may happen in the following
cases.
This
is
not
due
to
any
defect
of
the
unit.
e When conversation or speech having pauses
is recorded.
e When a pianissimo passage lasts for an ex-
tended period or a non-recorded section
happens to remain within any given program.
e When non-recorded sections are very short
(less than 3 seconds).
e@ When recordings have been made at a very
low level (less than -20dB).
e When large noise or hum is recorded bet-
ween different program selections.
If
the
tape
is
played
back
with
the
SCAN
switch
set
to
ON,
no
sound
may
be
heard
from
the
speakers.
Be
sure
to
set
the
SCAN
switch
to
OFF
except
when
you
apply
the
automatic
program
selec-
tion
function.
When
the
SCAN
switch
is
shifted
to
OFF
or
the
CLEAR
button
is
pressed
at
any
time
dur-
ing:
scanning,
the
locked
button(s)
will
be
re-
leased
and
the
playback
mode
will
be
entered.
Each
time
the
PROGRAM
button
is
pressed,
"4"
(program
selection)
is
added.
(The
running
indicator
advances
from
“1”
to
8’.
After
having
reached
“8”,
it
returns
to
1”.
If
you
wish
to
make
a
program
selection
farther
than
the
8th
one
(i.e.
from
the
9th
to
16th),
press
the
PAUSE
button
(and
the
green
indi-
cator
will
light).
You can go to a program corresponding to the
number of times you have pressed the PRO-
GRAM button plus “8”.
Operation of the automatic program selection
may become unstable if the TAPE select switch
has not been properly set according to the type
of the tape being used.
VORSICHTSMASSNAHMEN
Der automatische Programmwahl-Mechanismus funk-
tioniert durch Auffinden von unbespielten Abschnitten
zwischen verschiedenen Programmen. Deshalb kdénnte
eine Fehlleistung aus folgenden Griinden eintreten, die
aber nicht auf einen Defekt in Gerat zuriickzufihren ist.
e Wenn eine Unterhaltung oder Ansprache, die Pausen
enthalt, aufgenommen wird.
e Wenn leise Musikabschnitte flr einen langeren Zeit-
raum andauern oder ein unbespielter Abschnitt in
einem beliebigen Programm verbleibt.
e Wenn die unbespielten Abschnitte sehr kurz sind
(nicht langer als 3 Sekunden).
e Wenn Aufnahmen mit einem sehr niedrigen Pegel
hergestellt worden sind (weniger als -20dB).
e Wenn viel Gerausch oder Brummen zwischen den
verschiedenen Programmen aufgenommen wurde.
Wenn das Band mit dem Abtastschaiter (SCAN) auf ON
gestellt wiedergegeben wird, k6nnte mdglicherweise kein
Ton von den Lautsprechern gehort werden.
Beachten Sie, da& Sie den Abtastschalter (SCAN) auf
OFF stellen, au&er wenn Sie den automatischen Pro-
grammwahl-Mechanismus benutzen.
Wenn der Abtastschalter (SCAN) auf OFF gestellt und
der LOschknopf (CLEAR) wahrend des Abtastens
gedriickt wird, dadurch die eingerasteten Kndpfe
freigegeben werden und die Wiedergabe einsetzt.
Jedesmal wenn der Programmknopf (PROGRAM)
gedriickt wird, wird ‘1"' (Programm) dazugefiigt. (Die
Laufanzeige lauft von ‘'1” bis ‘8’'. Nachdem sie ‘8’
erreicht hat, kehrt sie nach ‘'1’’ zuriick.) Wenn Sie ein
Programm iiber ‘’8'’ hinaus abrufen wollen, (d-h. vom 9.
bis zum 16.) driicken Sie den Pausenknopf (PAUSE) (die
griine Anzeige leuchtet auf).
Sie kénnen zu einem Programm Ubergehen, das der
Anzahl von Programmen entspricht, die Sie auf dem
Programmknopf (PROGRAM) eingedriickt haben plus

Der automatische Progrdmmwahl-Mechanismus konnte
modglicherweise nicht einwandfrei funktionieren, wenn
der Bandartwahl-Schalter (TAPE) nicht entsprechend
des verwendeten Bandes eingestellt worden ist.
PRECAUTIONS A PRENDRE
@ Le dispositif de sélection automatique de programme
fonctionne par détection de passages non enregistrés
entre les différents programmes. I! peut arriver que le
dispositif ne fonctionne pas correctement dans les cas
suivants qui ne sont nullement dus a un défaut dé fonc-
tionnement de I‘appareil.
e Lorsque I’enregistrement consiste en une conversation
ou un discours parsemé de longues pauses.
e Lorsqu’un enregistrement comporte un passage en
sourdine ou bien qu‘un passage non enregistré fasse
partie d’un méme programme.
e Lorsque les passages non enregistrés entre pro-
grammes sont de durée trop courte (iinférieure a 3
secondes).
e Lorsque I’enregistrement a été effectué a un niveau
trés bas (inférieur 4 ~-20dB).
e Lorsqu’un bruit de fond prononcé est enregistré entre
deux programmes.
Aucun son ne sort. des haut-parleurs si on fait jouer la
bande avec le commutateur de balayage (SCAN) réglé
sur la position ON.
S’assurer que le commutateur de balayage (SCAN) est
bien réglé sur la position OFF. Ne le régler sur ON que
lors de la sélection automatique des programmes.
Si on régle le commutateur de balayage (SCAN) sur la
position OFF ou qu’on appuie sur la touche d’annula-
tion (CLEAR) en cours de balayage, les touches qui se
trouvent alors verrouillées se libérent et l‘appareil se met
aussit6t en mode de reproduction.
Chaque fois qu’on appuie sur la touche de programme
(PROGRAM}], on ajoute une sélection de programme.
Les voyants 1 4 8 s’allument les une aprés les autres. Si
on appuie une nouvelle fois sur la touche de programme
lorsque le voyant 8 est éclairé, le voyant 1 s’allume 4 son
tour. Si on veut sélectionner un programme au-dela du
8 (c’est-a-dire un des programmes 9 4 16), il faut aupar-
avant appuyer sur la touche de PAUSE. Le voyant vert
s‘allume alors, et l'on peut ensuite sélectionner un pro-
gramme en appuyant sur la touche de programme un
nombre de fois correspondant 4 sa position moins &.
Le fonctionnement de /a sélection automatique de pro-
gramme risque de présenter des irrégularités si le sélec-
teur de bande (TAPE) n’est pas réglé correctement en
fonction du type de bande utilisé.
