MAINTENANCE OF DOUBLE INSULATION EQUIPMENT
USE OF EXTENSION CORDS
In a double insulated product, two insulation systems are provided instead of one
ground. No grounding is provided on a double insulated product and no means of
grounding should be added to the product.
Servicing a double-insulated product requires extreme care and knowledge of the
system, and should only be performed by an authorized service technician.
Replacement parts for a double-insulated product must be identical to the parts they
replace. A double insulated product is marked with the words “DOUBLE INSULATED” or
“DOUBLE INSULATED.” The product may also be marked with the symbol shown below.
The use of an extension cord is NOT RECOMMENDED with this product. If you must use
an extension cord, use only those designed for use in open spaces. These cables are
identified as “SUITABLE FOR USE WITH OUTDOOR EQUIPMENT. STORE IN A CLOSED
PLACE WHEN NOT IN USE.” Only use extension cords with a higher electrical rating
than the product. Examine the extension cord before using it. DO NOT USE DAMAGED
EXTENSION CORDS! Do not pull on the cord to disconnect it from the receptacle;
Always unplug it by pulling on the plug.
Keep the cord away from heat and sharp objects. Always unplug the extension cord
from the receptacle before disconnecting the product from the extension cord.
WARNING ‒ To reduce the risk of electric shock, keep all connections dry and off the
ground. Do not touch the plug with wet hands.
