III. SOFTWARE
MS128 system is a
Stored Program Controlled
(SPC) system. It has a
microprocessor, which controls the operation of the system, and an EPROM, which
stores the software of the system. All the default system and port parameters are
stored in the EPROM.
The software of MS128 system is designed to provide a full feature system. There
are three categories for the features of the system:
1) User features,
2) Operator features,
3) Programs.
User features are the software facilities, which may be activated by any user of the
system.
Operator features are the software facilities, which may be activated only by the
operator of the system. The operator is the first extension of the system, ie. the
extension who has the physical access code “
111
”.
Programs are the codes, some of which may be entered only by the system
supervisor and some of which may be entered only by the operator, after the
system is put in programming mode by the system supervisor.
By default, the
operator is the system supervisor.
By programming most of the parameters which
control the operation of the system can be changed.
