Why is my Kenmore 111 too warm?

  If your Kenmore Refrigerator or Freezer is too warm, first ensure the temperature control is correctly set and allow time for stabilization after adjustments. Reduce how often and how long you open the doors, and let hot food cool before refrigerating it. Avoid operating the refrigerator in temperatures above 110°F. Also, wait 30 minutes after a defrost cycle completes to confirm proper temperature. Check if doors are not closed correctly (but see the Doors will not close correctly or pop open section in Parts & Features Troubleshooting). If the refrigerator was recently installed, it may take up to 24 hours to reach the desired temperature.

  To address moisture buildup inside your Kenmore Refrigerator, reduce the frequency and duration of door openings. Ensure doors close correctly (but see the Doors will not close correctly section in the Troubleshooting section). Maintain a reasonable humidity level in your home. Wait 30 minutes after the defrost cycle completes. Also, wipe containers dry and store food in sealed packaging.

  If the cooling system in your Kenmore Refrigerator runs excessively, remember that modern refrigerators require more operating time due to their efficient technology. If recently plugged in, allow up to 24 hours to cool completely. Minimize door openings, organize food for quick retrieval, and ensure doors close completely (but see the Doors will not close completely or pop open section in Parts & Features Troubleshooting). Clean the condenser cover and vents with a vacuum cleaner. Note that the compressor will run longer in warmer conditions; expect it to run about 40% to 80% of the time at normal room temperatures (70°F).
