Removing and replacing the RF Top Panel Assembly
1. Separate the front and rear cases. Refer to “Separating the Front and Rear
Cases” on page 115.
2. Remove all measurement group assemblies as one unit. Refer to
“Removing All Measurement Group Assemblies as One Unit” on page 136.
3. For N991xA, N992xA, and N993xA models, refer to Figure 7-22.
Disconnect cable W3 and W4. Remove the six screws (1) and lift the RF
top panel over the RF connectors.
4. For N995xA and N996xA models, refer to Figure 7-23. Disconnect cable
W3 and W4. Remove the eight screws (1) and lift the RF top panel over
the RF connectors.
5. To replace, position the RF top panel over the RF connectors and loosely
reinstall the six or eight screws (1). Do not tighten these screws at this
time; they will be tightened after the front and rear cases have been
combined.
6. Connect cable W3 and W4 to the A5 System board connectors. There
should be an audible click when the connector is fully in place.
7. Position (tuck) the cables W3 and W4 into the cavity above the A5 System
board to avoid interference with nearby parts.
8. Plug the two connector plugs (tethered caps) back into the RF connectors
to protect the connectors.
9. Perform the steps under “Final Assembly Procedure” on page 164.
