Check if the temperature sensor behind the air filter is touching the cold coil and try to move it. Set the unit to a lower temperature. If you've just changed modes, wait 3 minutes after setting it to the COOL mode for the compressor to start. Finally, check for and clear any obstructions blocking the outdoor intake/exhaust.
