Why is my KiloVault HLX battery bank suddenly shutting off?

  The battery bank might be shutting off because one or more of your batteries are not at the same state of charge as the others. To resolve this, individually charge the batteries to the same voltage, ideally between 13.8V-14.4V on the LiFePO4 charging curve. Alternatively, discharge them to between 11.5-12.5V. A simple 12V AC charger capable of achieving 14.0-14.4V may be useful. Another possible reason is that the load is exceeding the current capabilities of the batteries. To fix this, add an additional parallel row of KiloVault® batteries to increase the current capacity.

Why does my KiloVault HLX Camera Accessories battery turn off and on with a small DC device/inverter?

  KiloVault® batteries have an automatic standby mode. They will shut down if the load is less than 200-250mA. To prevent this, connect an additional small DC load to the batteries to increase the current draw to over 250mA.

Why do KiloVault HLX battery voltages not remain equal over time?

  Unequal battery voltages over time can occur if the battery cables are not of equal length or are damaged. Ensure all interconnects are of equal length, gauge, and are in good condition. Also, check that the cable terminal hardware is properly tightened.

Why does the voltage on my KiloVault HLX battery momentarily drop when connecting a load?

  The battery will resume its normal voltage and function mode within a few short seconds afterwards. Also, some inverters have higher input capacitors whose current draw overcomes that of the precharge function of the battery. Make sure that the inverter is off while connecting. Then wait 45 seconds before powering up the inverter.

  If the battery has reversed polarity, verify voltmeter probe orientation. In case of a faulty BMS, contact KiloVault® Support at KiloVault.com/support.
