Multi-node Connection
When there are many nodes on the RS485 bus, it is imperative to use a daisy-chain topology. If branch
topology is required for connections, the branch length from the bus to each node should be as short as
possible, ideally not exceeding 3 meters.
The use of star-type connections is strictly forbidden. A diagram of common RS485 bus topologies is
as follows:
Daisy-chain Connection
RS485 Bus
Branch Connection
Star-type Connection (Prohibited)
