Getting Started . . .
Switching between standard/winter operation
Set the vent for the carburettor to standard or winter operation mode. In winter operation
mode the vent is open so that the hot air from around the cylinder can ow to the
carburettor. This prevents the carburettor from freezing.
1. Pull the locking lever on the back cover and remove the back cover (6).
2. Remove the ventilation cover (6a) and place it in a proper direction (Fig. 10).

Chain lubrication
WARNING! The product is not lled with chain oil. It is essential to ll the
product with chain oil before using it! Never operate the product without chain
oil as this will result in extensive damage to the product! Operating the saw
chain dry or with too little chain oil will decrease cutting efciency, shorten the
product life span and cause rapid wear to the saw chain and guide bar from
overheating! Insufcient chain oil is evident by smoke or bar discoloration!
Adequate lubrication of the saw chain during cutting operations is essential to
minimise friction with the guide bar (2).
1.
Place the product on a stable, level surface with the oil tank cap (16) facing upwards.
We recommend laying a non-ammable sheet under the product.
2. Unscrew and remove the oil tank cap (16) (Fig. 11).
3.
Fill suitable saw chain oil into the tank using a funnel tted with a lter to avoid debris
entering the tank. Do not overll and leave approximately 5 mm of space between
the top of the oil and the inside edge of the tank to allow for expansion (Fig. 12).
NOTE: Use lubricant oil SAE#10W-30 all year round or SAE#30-#40 in summer
and SAE#20 in winter.
NOTE: Towards the end of the season, it is advisable to put only as much
lubricant in the tank as you need for each cut, so that it is completely used up
before you store the product.
