To prevent trouble from occuring, it is important to
know the conditions of the tractor well. Check it
before starting.
NOTE :
• Be sure to check and service the tractor on a flat
place with the engine shut off and the parking
brake on.
1. Check the parts where there was trouble
b e f o r e .
2. Walking around the tractor ;
1) Check the tire pressure, and check for wear
and damage (See page 35, 36).
2) Check for oil and water leaks.
3) Check the engine oil level (See page 50).
4) Check the amount of transmission oil (See
page 51).
5) Check if there is enough fuel (See page 48).
6) Check if there is enough coolant in the
radiator (See page 54).
7) Check for dust load in the air cleaner dust
cup (See page 53).
8) Check the tractor body for damage and
check that all bolts and nuts are tight.
9) Check the pilot lamps for failure.
10) Check the S.M.V. emblem for damage and
clean or replace as necessary.
3. While sitting in the operator’s seat ;
11) Check the throttle pedal, brake pedals and
clutch pedal (See page 58,59).
12) Check the parking brake.
13) Check the steering wheel (See page 59)
4. Turning the key switch on ;
14) Check the performance of the pilot lamps.
15) Check headlights, tail lights and hazard
lamps, clean if necessary.
5. Starting the engine ;
16) Check the color of the exhaust fumes.
