3. Description
3.1 General function
CoolAdd
®
is an easy to mount retrofit heat exchanger for overheated data processing
centres. When fitted directly to the cabinet it transfers the heat load to the water and
relieves the room air condi tioning
CoolAdd
®
replaces the rear doors of common server cabinets and is easil y mounted to
the rear frame. The layout of the server cabinet remains compl etely unchanged.
A connection to the data centre’s chilled water system is requir ed.
The air/water heat exchanger is positioned in the fixed part of the upgrade kit and is
connected to the server cabinet via the frame.
Four fans are i ntegrated into the rear door, which provides access to the cabling for the
rack components.

- a frame for fixing at the cabinet
- a door with radial blowers
- a verti cally fixed air/water heat exchanger

complies with all requirements of EN 60950.

desi gn allowes the retrofitting on all existing standard cabinet dimensions.
