4. Install the Water Supplies
IMPORTANT! Various combinations of male adapters and elbows are possible. Plan for the elbow and
male adapters that will be used before anchoring the supply tubes inside the wall.
NOTE: Height dimensions in the illustration are shown from the estimated top of the finished floor to the
center of the top face of the male adapter.
Install 3/4″ copper water supply lines, 90° elbows, and male adapters according to the roughing-in
information. Locate the cold supply above the hot supply. Refer to the above illustration.
Angle and/or offset the supply lines and elbows according to one of the two methods illustrated.
Trim the supply lines so the center of the male adapter is 1-9/16″ (4 cm) from the planned finished
wall surface. The bottom of the pipe or elbow should be at least 1-3/8″ (3.5 cm) above the estimated
finished floor.
Cap the supplies.
Turn on the water supplies and check for leaks. Turn off the water.
Remove the caps.
Turn on the water supply to flush any dirt or debris from the lines. Turn off the water.
Cover or cap the water supplies.
