11.2 SWITCHES
1. STARTING SWITCH
This switch is used to start or stop the engine.
OFF position
The key can be inserted and moved at this position. When the key is turned
to this position, the electric circuit is turned off and the engine stops.
ON position
Electric current flows in the charging, lamp and accessory circuits.
Keep the starting switch key at the ON position while the engine is running.
START position
This is the engine-start position. Keep the key at this position during
cranking. Immediately after starting the engine, release the key which will
automatically return to the ON position.
If your attempt to start the engine has failed then return the key to the OFF
position before trying again.
The starting system has a feature that prevents the starting motor from
cranking while the engine is running and must be reset by returning to the
OFF position.
