Chargingabatteryisaprocesswithaninherentrisksocheckapplicableprocedure(s)priortocharging
inordertorstassesstheleveloftheinherentrisk;andthen,ifnecessary,applysuitablecontrolsto
mitigatetheinherentriskbeforecharging.Followthechargingprocedurecarefully.
Context
Thebatterymustbefullychargedbeforelongtermstorageanditisrecommendedtorechargethe
batteryevery6monthstomakesurethebatterydoesnotdischargecompletelyovertime.Acompletely
dischargedbatterywillnotcharge,asalllithiumionbatteries.Whenbatteryandtransponderare
shippedseparately,thebattery“mustbeshippedatastateofcharge(SoC)notexceeding30%oftheir
ratedcapacity”inordertobeincompliancewithIATAregulations.
ThecNODEMiniSbatterychargerisforcharging
cNODEMiniSbatteriesandcNODEMicro
batteriesonly.Neveruseitforotherpurposes.The
batterychargerwillonlychargewhenabattery’s
stateofchargeislessthan96%ofitsratedcapacity.
Important
EqualizethetemperatureofthecNODEMicro
tobetween10°Cand40°Cbeforechargingit.
AlwaysusethecNODEMiniSbatterychargerforon-deckchargingofcNODEMiniSbatteriesand
cNODEMicrobatteries.
Neverchargebatteriesunattended.
Procedure
1Disconnecttheon/offplugfromthecNODEtransponder.
2Lettheunitwarmuporcooldowntoanambienttemperatureof10°Cto40°Cbeforecharging.
3ConnectthebatterychargerplugtotheconnectoronthetranspondermarkedCHARGE.
