Usage Features

The device is designed for intuitive operation through a combination of an external switch and internal settings.

  • Main Screen Switching: The "Up" button on the external switch cycles through total mileage, Trip O, Trip A, Trip B, and Max. record screens. Pressing the "Up" button for 3 seconds resets Trip A, Trip B, and Max. record values.
  • Temperature/Fuel Switching: The "Down" button on the external switch switches between temperature and fuel displays.
  • Setting Mode: Pressing the "Up" button for 3 seconds on the main screen enters the setting mode.
  • Clock Setting: Allows adjustment of time (12H/24H format, hours, minutes).
  • Unit Setting: Enables selection of km/h or MPH for speed, and °C or °F for temperature.
  • Backlight Brightness: Adjustable from 1/5 (darkest) to 5/5 (brightest).
  • Tire Circumference Setting: Critical for accurate speed and distance readings. The manual provides a "learn" mode to automatically calculate circumference or allows manual input.
  • Gear Setting: Allows the user to teach the meter the gear positions by riding the motorcycle through each gear.
  • RPM Input Pulse Setting: Configurable based on the engine type (e.g., 1 pulse per ignition, 1 pulse per 2 ignitions).
  • Fuel Gauge Resistance Setting: Supports various fuel sensor resistance values (100 Ω, 250 Ω, 270 Ω, 390 Ω, 510 Ω, SW, Custom) and offers a "learn" mode for automatic detection. Manual setting of fuel levels is also available.

  • Installation Instructions: Detailed steps are provided for connecting the main harness, sensors (speed, temperature, RPM), and external switches. Specific instructions are given for different types of speed sensors (S type, L type) and their bracket installations.

  • Troubleshooting Guide: A comprehensive section addresses common issues such as:

    • No power: Checks for power supply, wiring, and battery voltage.
    • Incorrect speed reading: Verifies speed sensor connection, tire circumference setting, and magnet placement.
    • Incorrect RPM reading: Checks spark plug type, RPM wire connection, and RPM input pulse setting.
    • Incorrect temperature reading: Verifies temperature sensor connection and wiring.
    • Fuel meter display errors: Checks fuel tank, wiring, and fuel gauge settings.
    • Clock errors: Checks for correct time settings.
    • Indicator display errors: Checks wiring and connections for specific indicators.
  • Sensor Maintenance: The manual emphasizes the importance of correct sensor installation and calibration (e.g., speed sensor gap, magnet placement) for accurate readings. Regular checks of sensor connections are implied for optimal performance.

  • Wiring Integrity: The troubleshooting section frequently points to checking wiring and connections, highlighting the importance of secure and correct electrical hookups for reliable operation.

  • Software/Settings Maintenance: The ability to reset trip meters, recalibrate the speed sensor (tire circumference), and adjust various warning thresholds allows for ongoing customization and correction of settings as needed.
