88° ÷ 2 = 44°
Step-by-Step
Use the Angle Finder to calculate the
necessary saw angle
Beforeeachcornercutyoumake,it’simportanttond
the angle of the wall before setting your saw. Often times
yourcorneranglewillbeobyafewdegrees,resulting
in a gap between the molding if you don’t properly
compensate with your saw. In this example, the corner
turned out to be 88°, or 2° short of 90°.
If you have a Miter Saw which reads 90° at the front,
you’ll simply divide the wall angle (88°) by 2, to get a
saw angle of 44°. (See Example A)
If you have a Miter Saw which reads 0° at the front (the
majority of miter saws), you’ll need to divide the “Spring
Angle” by 2 instead of the “Wall Angle”. In our example,
the “Spring Angle” is 92°, and divided by 2, will get your
saw angle at 46°. (See Example B)
