8 Trouble-shooting
8.1 Signals and indicator lamps see section 4.2
Fault
Indicator lamps Cause Remedy
Pump does not start No indication The system is not energized. Check mains connection.
Pump does not start Green indicator lamp is lit
(Energized)
The piping between the pump and the
consumer installation is clogged.

The automatic control unit is frozen Defrost

Reset
The electronic control system is
blocked.
Unplug and re-plug the unit.
The pump should start up within
5--6 seconds.
Pump does not start Green indicator lamp is lit
(Energized)
Lack of water Check water level; the end of the pump
suction line must be submerged in the
water.
Red indicator lamp is lit.
(Fault)
Press and hold down Reset key until
pump has primed.
Power
The pump has not been connected to
Controlmatic E.2.
Plug the pump plug in the socket
provided on Controlmatic E.2.

Reset
The pump motor has been connected
incorrectly.
Check connection in motor terminal
box.
On
The suction line is clogged or defective. Clean or repair .
The pump is blocked or defective. See pump operating manual.
The pump’s discharge pressure is
lower than the unit’s start-up pressure.
Unsuitable pump (Pump pressure must
be 7 metres higher than the start-up
pressure.)
Pump delivers flow, but
pressure is unstable
Green indicator lamp is lit
(Energized)
Amber indicator lamp is lit.
(Running)

Air intake on the pump’s suction side V e rify that

D the suction strainer is not directly
below the water surface
D the water does not contain air

Minor leakage in the system Eliminate leakage at the consumer
installations and pipe unions.
Pump does not stop
although consumer
installations are closed

Severe leakage Check the shut-off valves and the
piping, and repair.

Reset button is jammed. Call in customer service.
Power

Failure
Reset
Flow detection is prevented by sand or
other solids blocking the check valve.
Disconnect the unit from the mains
supply and flush it through to remove
any solids. Call in customer service, if
necessary.
Electronic components are defective. Call in customer service.
