12.9 Removing the lower triple clamp (All standard EXC/XC-W models)
Preparatory work
– Raise the motorcycle with a lift stand. ( p. 65)
– Remove the front wheel. ( p. 110)
– Remove the headlight mask with the headlight. ( p. 125)
– Remove the fork legs. ( p. 67)
– Remove front fender. ( p. 77)
– Remove the handlebar cushion.

Remove screws

and hang the combination instrument
holder to the side.

Loosen screw

. Take off the upper triple clamp with the
handlebar and hang them to the side.
Info
Cover the components to protect them against damage.
Do not kink the cables and lines.

– Take off the lower triple clamp with the steering stem.
– Remove the upper steering head bearing.
