What to do if Kubota Grinder is digging into utility lines?
    • C
      Cindy JohnstonAug 18, 2025
If the Kubota Grinder is digging into electrical, gas, water, and cable lines, it is likely because utility lines were not located before digging. Call Dig Safe at 811 and have utility companies flag the location of underground utilities before digging.

What to do if the cutting wheel won’t turn on my Kubota AP-SSG2524?
    • D
      Donald RojasAug 20, 2025
If the cutting wheel won’t turn, the quick disconnect couplers may be attached to the wrong hydraulic hoses. Try switching the quick disconnect couplers on the hydraulic hoses. Also, check if the hydraulic hoses are not coupled to the skid steer and reattach quick disconnect couplings to the skid steer if needed. Finally, examine the hydraulic hoses and/or fittings for damage and replace any damaged components.

Why are the hydraulic hoses on my Kubota AP-SSG2524 Grinder stretched and/or damaged?
    • L
      lindsay34Aug 23, 2025
Hydraulic hoses may be stretched and damaged because they are catching on tree limbs, debris, or other solid objects. Replace the hydraulic hoses and stay away from objects that can catch on them. Stop immediately if hoses are catching on an object and remove the object. If helpful, readjust the hose routing. Another reason may be that the hoses are too short, in that case you should make longer hoses.

Why does the cutting wheel keep stopping on my Kubota AP-SSG2524?
    • W
      Walter SmithAug 26, 2025
The cutting wheel may stop turning because you are making deep cuts in the stump. Try making shallower cuts instead. The stump may also be made of very hard wood or has hardened with age, so take smaller bites and go slower while articulating the cutting head across the top of the stump. Ensure that the cutting teeth are installed correctly; if not, turn them around. If the carbide tips are dull, replace them with new teeth or have them sharpened by a professional. Insufficient skid steer pressure could also be the cause, so hitch the stump grinder to a skid steer with a higher pressure rating. Lastly, missing carbide tips can cause this issue, so replace the teeth if any are missing.

How to stop my Kubota Grinder from vibrating excessively?
    • D
      dominiquewoodsAug 28, 2025
Excessive vibration can occur if you are making cuts with the skid shoes off the ground. Lower the hitch until the skid shoes are firmly planted on the ground. Also, avoid backing up while making a cut; if available, set the skid steer park brake. Making deep cuts in the stump can also cause vibration, so make shallower cuts instead.

    carla85Aug 30, 2025
Why is the cutting wheel on my Kubota Grinder turning too slow?
    • J
      Jesse DavisAug 30, 2025
If the cutting wheel turns too slow, the skid steer pressure may be too low. Try hitching the Stump Grinder to a skid steer with a higher pressure rating. Also, the skid steer oil flow volume may be low, so hitch the Stump Grinder to a skid steer with a higher flow volume.

What to do if carbide cutting tips are missing on my Kubota AP-SSG2524?
    • T
      Tina DuncanSep 2, 2025
If the carbide cutting tips on the end of the teeth are missing, it is likely because the cutting teeth are installed on the cutting wheel backwards. Replace the teeth with missing carbide tips and install the teeth with the carbide tips leading.

What causes damaged hydraulic fittings on a Kubota AP-SSG2524?
    • O
      Oscar McmillanSep 5, 2025
Damaged hydraulic fittings can occur if the hydraulic hoses are catching on tree limbs, debris, or other solid objects. Replace the hydraulic fittings and stay away from objects that can catch on the hydraulic hoses. Stop immediately if hoses are catching and readjust the hose routing if helpful.

What to do if Kubota Stump Grinder is loosely attached to the Skid Steer?
    • P
      piercecindySep 7, 2025
If the Stump Grinder is loosely attached to the Skid Steer, it is likely because the Quick Attach Hitch is not properly attached to the skid steer. Reattach the hitch before using the Stump Grinder.

Why aren't the articulation and tilt cylinders operating on my Kubota Grinder?
    • N
      Nicole RamirezSep 9, 2025
If the articulation and tilt cylinders do not operate, it may be due to loose wiring harness connections. Reconnect all wire harness connections. Alternatively, wires in the wiring harness may be broken or chewed through by rodents; in this case, replace or repair the broken or damaged wiring harness.
