How to fix poor cutting quality on my KUHN ALTERNA 500 Lawn Mower?

  If the KUHN Lawn Mower has poor cutting quality, it could be due to several reasons. The PTO speed (rotational frequency) might be insufficient; in this case, bring the PTO speed up to 1000 rpm (min-1) and set it with the hand throttle. Another cause may be knives fitted incorrectly: check that the arrow marked on the knife corresponds with the disc’s direction of rotation. Also, damaged or broken knives can be the reason, so replace them. Excessive forward speed can cause this problem, so reduce your forward speed. Finally, the flotation of the cutterbar/conditioning unit may be poorly adjusted; in this case, adjust the down pressure of the cutting/conditioning unit.

  If the rotor is clogging on your KUHN Lawn Mower, it could be due to insufficient PTO speed (rotational frequency). Bring the PTO speed (rotational frequency) up to 1000 rpm (min-1) and set it with the hand throttle. Also, retension or replace belts and check that the tensioning pulley is correctly aligned in respect to the drive and driven pulleys.
