Descriptions of Parameters
Effects Edit Mode Parameters
Glissando
When the Glissando parameter is On, the arpeggiator chromatically fills between latched notes.
When Glissando is on, the Arpeggiator ignores the Note Shift, Shift Limit, and Limit Option
parameters.
You must latch at least two notes to get a result. When Glissando is on, all notes played in the
arpeggiation range get latched, although you won’t necessarily get meaningful results from all
latched notes. In general, try to get each subsequent note you latch to be a change in direction.
For example, try latching the following sequence of notes: C4, C5, G4, G5, C5, C6, G4, G5. The
“glissando” changes direction around each change in direction of the latched notes.
Effects Edit Mode Parameters
Effects edit mode is a special subset of the PC2R’s editors. When you press FX, you go to the
FX Routing menu in the editor corresponding to the performance mode you were in:
Internal Voices mode Sound parameters (Program Editor)
KB3 mode KB3 parameters (KB3 Editor)
MIDI Setups mode Zone parameters (Setup Editor)
The Effects-mode menus are the same menus you see when scrolling through the list of menus
after going into an editor by pressing Edit.
In addition to the parameters described below, there are three effects-related parameters in the
Global menu. See page 5-38.
The FXA Select Menu
When you enter this menu, you see FXA|Select in the top line of the display, along with the
performance mode (Voices, KB3, or Setups) from which you entered Effects edit mode. The
bottom line shows the current effect for FX-A.
Use the Alpha Wheel to select a different effect. Or press the Right cursor button to scroll
through the parameters for the current effect. Note that the top line of the display changes to
show FXA: followed by the name of the current effect. The bottom line shows the current
parameter and its value, which you can change with the Alpha Wheel. Every effect has up to
four preset parameters controlling varying characteristics of the effect.
When the current program uses one of the double-block KB3 effects, you’ll notice
FXA/B|Select or FXAB: in the top line of the display, indicating that you’re selecting or
editing an effect that encompasses both effects blocks. See FXA/B Select and FXA/B on page 5-33.
The FXB Select Menu
This menu contains parameters for selecting and editing the effect assigned to FX-B. It has the
same parameters as the FXA Select menu.
When the current program uses one of the double-block KB3 effects, you’ll notice that the
FXB Select parameter shows the current effect’s name in parentheses, which means that you
can’t select a different effect in this menu, although you can still edit its parameters. (To select a
different effect in this case, use the FXA/B Select parameter in the FXA Select menu).
