2) Turn ON power to the Test Panel.
3) Apply power to the Variac and adjust for 115 $ 1 Vac output.
Note the AC power consumption, if any .
(AC power consumption should read 0 Watts).
4) Turn OFF power to the Test Panel.
C. POWER-ON TEST
This test checks the FA2100 Recorder’s AC power consumption and
the power-up audible tone generated by the recorder.
Test Set-Up,

1) Turn OFF power to the Test Panel and connect the Model
FA2100CVR Recorder using Test Panel Interface Cable assembly
024E1122-00.
NOTE: With the RECORD BIAS/OFF switch set to BIAS posi-
tion, pre-recorded data will be overwritten.
NOTE: For GACVRs p/ns: 2100−1010−5X and 2100−1020−5X
perform only the DC Power Check. For all other models,
this test may be performed using AC Power, then it will
be repeated using DC Power.
2) At the Test Panel, while monitoring the Variac and listening for the
start-up tone, set its POWER ON/OFF toggle switch to ON position.
NOTE: At the instant that power is applied, the recorder will gen-
erate a brief audible tone. If no tone is heard, proceed to
Table 104 for troubleshooting.

3) Carefully readjust the Variac to provide 115 $1.0 VAC to the Test
Panel. Note the AC power consumption . Subtract from this
figure, the power consumption noted in step B. 3) .
4) The AC power consumed by the recorder should be12 watts or less.
If not, proceed to Table 104 for troubleshooting.

Step C.2.
5) Turn Test Panel Power OFF, and disconnect the Model FA2100
Recorder from the Test Panel.
6) Set power source switch to DC position and turn Test Set power ON.
7) Ensure that 27.5 $ 0.3 Vdc is applied to input terminals TB−3 (HI)
and TB−4 (LO) on the Test Panel.
Note the DC power consumption, if any .
